As a part of its effort to improve the quality and promptness in the delivery of civic services to the citizens of Nabadiganta, the industrial township authority proposes to release citizens' charter to achieve the twin objectives of streamlining public services and informing the citizens regarding their rights and responsibilities. For this purpose, apart from making wide publicity of the proposed citizens' charter, details are also given in our website.
In keeping with the resolve of the State Government to provide efficient and people-centered administration, Nabadiganta has adopted the principle of "Smart" Civic Administration, that is Simple, Moral, Accountable, Responsive and Transparent. The goal of the authority is to create a local administrative machinery that is always alive to public expectations and create a lasting partnership between the citizens and civic administration in the endeavour to build a brighter future and a better Nabadiganta.


  • Provide all important information to the citizens about the services being delivered by Nabadiganta and its concerned departments.
  • Generate public awareness regarding the rights and responsibilities of the citizens with regard to the functions discharged and the time frame in which public grievances will be attended to by various functionaries of the authority.
  • Solicit the cooperation of the citizens in maintenance of a clean, green and healthy township in the spirit of mutual help, partnership and togetherness.


  • Collection and transportation of garbage daily from 8-00 a.m. to 4-00 p.m.
  • Door to door collection has been introduced since 5th June,2009.


How can a citizen help?

  • Arrange for keeping garbage in a plastic/ paperbag of proper size & handover the same to our collecting personnel.
  • Keep the surroundings of your building clean.
  • Report non-lifting of the garbage to the concerned officer of the authority.
  • Educate the public regarding sanitary habits and responsibilities.
  • File a complaint if the garbage is not lifted.

The application forms for trade licence (new or renewal) can be had from the Axis Bank, Sector-V Branch, on payment of Rs.100/-. After submission of the application along with all relevant papers, the applications shall be processed and certificates of enlistment shall be issued within 15 days from the date of application (provided the relevant papers are in order). Application forms can also be downloaded from our website and in that case Rs. 100 are to paid in addition to the normal fee for the license.

How can a citizen help?

  • Ensure that licence for new trade and renewal for the old one are obtained in time.
  • Be cooperative with the officials during their visits.
  • Conduct only that business for which license is obtained.

Nabadiganta has started beautifying the township in partnership with Encon-Selvel Consortium. It is desirable that for a greener Nabadiganta all the citizens shall come forward to make this programme a success.

How can a citizen help?

  • Don't encroach open spaces.
  • Avoid misuse of parks and plantation areas.
  • Report encroachments in parks and ensure that they are evicted in time.
  • Report uprooting and stealing of trees and saplings from parks/avenue.

Applications for Building Plans are to be submitted to the office of this authority. The list of enlisted Structural engineers are displayed in our website.

How can a citizen help?

  • Follow the regulations and rules regarding FAR, set backs, use etc. as per plan and adhere to building regulations. Report illegal constructions, dangerous constructions and violations to sanctioned plans.
  • Do not encroach on government and public property.
  • Ensure that footpaths are clear and not encroached upon by other structures.
  • Do not cut roads without permission of the authority.
  • Do not stack building materials on Roads or footpaths.

Response time:

The building plans shall be sanctioned within 60 days if all the relevant papers are in place.

Nabadiganta Industrial Township Authority is in the process of revision of the property tax of the Sector-V area in keeping with the West Bengal Municipal Act, 1993. Pending revision the property tax collection continues to be what it was in the Bidhannagar Municipality . The citizens can pay their taxes at the Bank (Indian Overseas Bank/State Bank of India, Sector-V Branch).

How can a citizen help?

  • To co-operate with the authority in new assessment of tax.
  • File Self Assessment Returns in time.
  • Promptly furnish information when required by the authority.
  • Report your property details to the authority.
  • Clear long pending arrears without any delay.
